Marathon10 - Feedback from ParticipantsLots of : It reminded me of the early days of the club before robots and the relaxed club, when courtesy and fun was the aim and no worries about scores.
Marathon10 was a great success. Wonderful opportunity to play with very helpful and experienced teachers, mentors, experts, etc., and, most importantly, make new friends. Congratulations to you and your wonderful Marathon10 Team. Thank you!! What a privilege to play in this tourney. And it's still going at the time I write this. Wow. Now I hope it carries over to more tables in the BIL through the New Year. Al (xx 1943) privated me to say that he and other guests would join in at BIL tables either to play or coach if it were used more. Suggestion: you might get a quote from him and some of the others to this effect to use in the 'wrap-up' Gazette. Getting to play with and/or as opp with such people as Al, Oliver, 'Caspar,' Bob McPhee, and many others was fantastic. And once I and others got over the initial intimidation (not the best word) we found them to be wonderful about helping - and kindly giving advice. I know your special events team already is planning more 'parties' like this one. Thank you for the unbelievably good work you and your team do. When I get some experience I will certainly help out if wanted

Thanks for the wonderfull event. Best new year in a long time. What a lovely event, and such friendlyness from all. Thank you for all that you do for all of us. I am so delighted with BBO and the advantages offered to me.
I am so grateful for the BIL. Is the best that happened to me to discover this wonderful place to play bridge. I wish that BILlies played more in our BIL place. Merci for everything you gave us Wonderful wonderful wonderful this Marathon10 !! It was fun, the atmosphere was perfect and all those ADVANCED and EXPERTS............ oh my........!! Everyone was lovely. Have just been kibbutzing a bit (15.30 Italy), two tables 6/7 kibs, including our xx1943, keeping a fatherly eye on things. This Marathon10 has given me courage to fling myself into the fray without fear: and I've learnt something more about bridge!! Thank you one and all for this marvellous opportunity, for all the hard work (I wonder how much Maureen managed to sleep these days!?) done by those concerned in getting it running and going with or without hitches! Thank you! Im a great kibber.Too nervous to sit , even at the Acol club- anyway this Marathon has got me playing even though they dont know my system. Ive enjoyed it so much. Want it to go on ... forever !! ********** CONGRADULATIONS! Your Marathon was so wonderful, as the Olympic Spirit of the MARATHON! The winner may have the golden olive crown forever, but all the participants get the "cotinum" (the olive crown, golden, silver, bronze or even from olive branches and leaves) The value is exactly the same, as in ALL Olympic Games, participation counts! The "EF AGONIZESTHE" = the fair participation and trial, deserves the BEST reward of the Olympic Spirit. In the era of the New Olympics of 1996, the athlet that won the Marathon, Spyros Louis, was a village young man. ALL Bilies deserve a "COTINUM", the crown of the fair trial and participation! World Class Players, that offer their time to help weaker then them players, as well as all the mentors that want to offer their knowledge to the ones that want to participate in the cerebral sport of bridge, also deserve a "COTINUM" for their offer. May they continue to help! Maureen dear, please continue to offer to all the bridge players your MAJOR offer. Lots of love, Eleni - Greece( BIL Teacher)
